Fall Leaf Vacuum Schedule/Details

๐Ÿ‚ Annual Residential Leaf Collection Begins October 28, 2024! ๐Ÿ‚

The City of Spring Valley is kicking off its Annual Leaf Collection Program on October 28, 2024. Please review the collection schedule and guidelines below to ensure smooth service in your area.

๐Ÿšซ Important Reminder: DO NOT place leaves in the street. Depositing leaves on the street is a violation of city code, and violators may be fined.

Guidelines for Leaf Collection:

  • Placement: Rake leaves within three (3) feet of the curb. The leaf vacuum cannot reach leaves placed farther away.
  • Vehicle Parking: Do not block leaf piles with vehicles during collection times.
  • Collection Timing: Have leaves ready at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your old garbage pick-up day. Collection times may vary depending on leaf volume in other areas of the city.
  • One-Time Pass: The collection truck will only make one pass per neighborhood each week. Leaves left after collection wonโ€™t be picked up until the following week.
  • Keep it Leaf-Only: Do not mix leaves with brush, tree limbs, garden waste, vines, lumber, or other materials.
  • Keep Distance: Avoid piling leaves around poles, signs, or mailboxes; leave a 3-foot radius for the vacuum truck.

Reminder: Leaves in the street create hazardous driving conditions and can clog storm sewers.

If you have any questions about the program, please contact the Street Department at 815-664-4752.
