Property Owners’ Sidewalk Construction Reimbursement Program

It is the intention of the City of Spring Valley to encourage the construction, replacement and maintenance of sidewalks through the City of Spring Valley.  This can best be accomplished with a joint effort between the city and the property owner working together.

Street Light Notification

Residents wishing to notify us of a street light that is not working, please contact the City Clerk’s Office:815. 664-4221 or the Non-Emergency Police: 815.663.2351. 

State Highway Sign Posting Notice

Please be advised that only permitted signage, controlled by the State of Illinois, may be erected along the right-of-way of state highways and intersections. This pertains to Route 6 (Dakota Street), Route 89 (Spalding Street) and Route 29 within Spring Valley city limits. This includes, but not limited to, garage sale notices, campaign signs and event/fundraising activity banners and placards.
If a sign is erected without a state permit the sign is illegal and must be removed (at the owner’s expense).
